C'est Magnifique October kit projects

Sadly this will be my final full reveal using C'est Magnifique kits.  The "Sweet Treats" October kit features some gorgeous Maja Designs papers - the coffee in the arbour collection.

Up first is layout of my dad and the start of his family (now has 2 more siblings) when he immigrated to Canada from Portugal. Everything on this layout is from the main kit and flower add-on except for a few doilies from my stash.  I pulled out some old creative memories tools to create the scallop circle design.

This is a display layout I created. Everything on this layout is from the main kit and flower add-on except for the doily and some seam binding from my stash.  The seam binding was tinted using the ink the kit and I also stamped on the doily with that very pretty pink ink.

A unisex birthday card to add to my stash when an unexpected event occurs. Everything on this card is from the main kit and flower add-on.

A girly gift box (kirigami folding) to add to my stash when an unexpected event occurs. Everything on this card is from the main kit and flower add-on except the seam binding... it was tinted using the pink ink in the kit.

A peek at the main kit this month...

The flower add-on I used...

I will be back with one final share in a few days, using the kit sketch so stay tuned!

Card sets - C'est Magnifique Sept. Kit

I'm back today to share my last projects created with the stunningly beautiful and versatile "Nature's Journey" September kit from C'est Magnifique. The papers and flowers are to die for... so perfectly coordinated!

First, a card set with a beach feel to them. I used the fantastic ink and beautiful script stamp in the kit on plain white cardstock to create the background. Then, I added several layers of paper from the kit - easy breezy!

Here is another card set, again using the stamp and ink for the background. This set features lots of fussy cutting from the gorgeous papers. Lots of distressed layers on the cards for texture too.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today while I share my creations!

Dusty Attic Sept. Sketch Challenge

This month I was very inspired to use my absolute favourite Dusty Attic chipboard set for my sketch layout - the skeleton clock faces (DA0430). I never get tired of creating with these gorgeous clocks - and you get 4 in the set! I also used a newer piece for the "moments" title from the last chipboard release. There are six gorgeous large script titles in the word pack #4 (DA1077).

Here is a close-up view. I wanted a matte and rustic look so I simply used gesso on the bare clocks and distress ink on the title - leaving some of the bare chipboard showing.

Don't forget to enter your interpretation of this beautiful sketch for a chance to win some chipboard goodness! Link to the top right side of the DA blog to enter your project.

NOTE: All of the other product used on this layout (with exception to the chipboard) was from the gorgeous C'est Magnifique "Nature's Journey" September kit.

C'est Magnifique September Reveal

Here is just a peek at a few projects I made with the spectacular September kit from C'est Magnifique.  I have more to come - but holidays got in the way of my creative time this month. The papers and flowers are to die for as usual... so perfectly coordinated!

Up first is a layout of the day after we brought my daughter home... sweet moment. On this layout I added a doily and a few leaves to complement the amazing kit. The gorgeous blue flowers are in the flower add-on this month (a MUST have add-on in my opinion... but I loooove flowers :)

Next is a layout of the kids all ready for their very first Calgary Stampede BBQ. Everything on here is from the main kit and the flower add-on. Don't you just love the rustic feel of these Riddersholm papers?

Here is a peek at the main kit - so pretty. I have so much left to play with!

And this is the "must have" flower add-on I used...

Well, that's it for today but I will be back in a few days with my kit sketch layout and then more to come a few days after that too!

Dusty Attic August Challenge

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!  I decided to give a VERY old layout a HUGE update using three fantastic Dusty Attic chipboard pieces (scroll, title and lacing) and lots of great Dusty in colour paints too.  I had to "borrow" this heritage layout from my dad since I gave it to him for his 60th birthday (picture of him and his mom). This was the very FIRST "antique" layout I created... but it looked so plain and really sad in the frame in my parent's house.  It was in desperate need of chipboard and paper layering for added texture.

It was actually the August Dusty Attic monthly sketch challenge that inspired me to revisit this layout... starting with the lacing piece to anchor the page.

Here is a close-up of the scroll and title chipboard that was primed, painted, crackle varnished, glazed and inked.

Another look at the layering of paint, crackle varnish, glaze and ink.

C'est Magnifique July Sketch Challenge

I'm back today to reveal my last project made with the gorgeous "Beautiful Stories" August kit from C'est Magnifique kits. Everything you see on this layout is from the main kit contents and a bit of the flower add-on. So many amazing pretties to work with this month (as usual :) These were my favourite papers in the kit, plus lace, flowers, chipboard, resins - oh my!

This is a summer display layout - perfect colors to complement my home decor. I used the Heidi Swap mist in the kit on the papers and also on the Prima garden fairy resins. I adore the "blush" color!

Here is the "oh so pretty" sketch designed by our newest DT member Sarah!

Dusty Attic gift tag and card set

Today I am sharing a wedding gift tag and card set I made using some beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces (and some left overs from my C'est Magnifique August kit).  I cut up some sweet pea frame set to embellish the pretty floral papers, priming the chipboard with gesso and then simply inking with chalk inks. The brand new chipboard word tags #1 were sponged with gesso and then sprayed with mist.

Here is a close-up to show you how the chipboard finishes appear in full sunlight.  A few flowers, pearls and gems and then voila - a pretty wedding set made in half an hour (seriously!).

C'est Magnifique August Reveal!

It's time to reveal my projects made with the BEAUTIFUL August kit from C'est Magnifique Kits! The August "Beautiful Stories" kit features KaiserCraft and Manor House Creations papers as well as soooo many amazing embellishments (as always). Here we go... tons to see!

click on images for larger views

Up first is a baby photo of my oldest son when he was just over a year old. Everything on this layout is from the main kit and the gorgeous flower add-on. The papers are such a perfect mix of collections!

Up next is a picture taken on my wedding day with my parents. The soft papers were perfect to complement the lush greenery behind us (in the Bahamas :) Again all of the elements on this layout are from the main kit and the gorgeous flower add-on.

I used some scraps from the previous layout to create a French thank you card using main kit contents  and the flower add-on (plus a script stamp and some glitter from my stash).

Here is another card made with main kit contents and the flower add-on. This one features lots of distressing and some fussy cutting - such beautiful papers to work with!

Lastly, a wedding card featuring the Manor House Creations product in the main kit... plus a frame and a little crinkled seam binding from my stash.  The seam binding was originally cream and I tinted it using the gorgeous Heidi Swap spray in the kit. This wedding card was actually inspired by the Manor House Creations wedding card competition.

Now for a peek at the "Beautiful Stories" main kit...

And the awesome flower add-on (that I can't live without)...

I will be back in a few days to reveal my August kit sketch layout - so stay tuned!

Dusty Attic July Sketch Challenge

Each month we have a fantastic Dusty Attic sketch challenge and the winner gets a great chipboard package prize - link your layout entry on the right side of the DA blog!

This month I decided to pull out some old papers from my stash (G45 and Basic Grey) to complement the lovely sketch. These floral papers were perfect to be embellished with the newest birds on a branch, mini gates and hashtag saying chipboard pieces.

click on images for larger views

Let's start with the beautiful sketch - so inspirational!

I cut the chipboard branch in two and placed the pieces at the top of my page. The branch was finished using Dusty Attic paints (alabaster, forrest, pesto, crushed olive, soot,  hot chocolate). The birds were primed with gesso, inked with pink for the bellies and finished with snow-tex.

The gates were simply randomly splattered with gesso - that's it! The title was primed with gesso and topped with snow-tex. I also added a few Dusty Attic celestial white blooms and some smaller Petaloo flowers (around gates and in the branch).

Thanks for joining today and don't forget to link your interpretation of the monthly sketch on the right side of the Dusty Attic Blog!
